Recommendation:

title

Adopt a resolution amending the fiscal year 2026-27 budget to authorize appropriation of $135,000 in the Park Acquisition and Improvement Fees Fund (500) to the Skate Park Improvement Project (CIP 24096); and authorize the City Manager or designee to take all appropriate actions necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of the resolution

body

Background:

The Skate Park Improvements Project (CIP 24096) was developed to provide improvements to the existing skate park facility and enhance the overall site to better serve the community and accommodate increased usage.

As the project has progressed, staff has identified additional costs associated with the planned improvements that were not fully anticipated in the original project budget. As design and construction details have been further developed, it has become apparent that the available funding is insufficient to complete the proposed improvements as intended. Providing the additional funding will help ensure the project can be completed as designed and provide the intended improvements and benefits to the community.

Staff requests that an additional $135,000 be allocated to the Skate Park Improvements Project (CIP 24096) to address existing site and facility deficiencies and complete the necessary improvements.

Fiscal Impact:

There is sufficient fund balance in the Park Acquisition and Improvement Fee Fund (Fund 500) for the recommended budget appropriation of $135,000 for the Skate Park Improvements Project (CIP 24096).

The current FY26-27 Amended budget for the Skate Park Improvements Project (CIP 24096) is $245,968 and is funded from COVID Relief Fund (Fund 110 - ARPA).
