Recommendation:
title
Adopt a resolution accepting Public Improvements for Machado Ranch South Drain Bypass located on Woodward Avenue adjacent to the Machado Ranch Unit No. 2 subdivision; approving exoneration of the Performance Bond; approving exoneration of the Labor and Materials Bond six (6) months after the date of acceptance; and approving exoneration of the Warranty Bond twelve (12) months after the date of acceptance.
body
Background:
The City Council approved the Improvement Agreement for the Machado Ranch South Drain Bypass on November 19, 2024. The existing pump station and bypass drain required relocation to accommodate the widening of Woodward Avenue adjacent to the Machado Ranch Unit No. 2 subdivision. The estimated cost of the improvements is $237,352, as included in the Improvement Agreement.
The installed improvements included relocating the existing pump station and installing a storm drain bypass to discharge stormwater from the South Drain storm line in Woodward Avenue to the South San Joaquin Irrigation District (SSJID) facilities adjacent to Woodward Avenue.
The public improvements for the Machado Ranch South Drain Bypass have been completed in accordance with the approved improvement plans. Refer to the attached memorandum from the City Construction Inspector (Attachment 3).
In accordance with the City of Manteca Municipal Code, the Performance Bond will be exonerated upon acceptance of the improvements by City Council and submittal of a Warranty Bond. The Labor and Materials Bond will be exonerated six (6) months after the date of acceptance if no claims have been received by the City for lack of payment. The Warranty Bond will be exonerated twelve (12) months after the date of acceptance, once the improvements have been re-inspected and the work is found to be in good condition as determined by the City Engineer or any defects have been repaired.
