Background:

COMPOSITION OF COMMISSION:

The Citizens Oversight Committee (Measure Q) consists of five regular members and one alternate member, appointed to district terms. Each councilmember appoints one member and the Mayor appoints one member (at-large) and one alternate (at-large). The members must be residents of the City and registered voters.

On February 6, 2025, City Council appointed members to this committee as follows:

                     District 1 - Benjamin Cantu

                     District 2 - Aman Singh

                     District 4 - Norman Hauser

Mayor - Judy Blumhorst (regular member at-large)

Based on the City Council's consensus and direction at the February 4, 2025 meeting, the City Clerk has solicited additional applications for District 3, as only one was initially received. No appointment for Council District 3 was made at the February 6, 2025 meeting; and the Mayor opted to defer the appointment for the alternate position until all regular appointments had been made.
