It is recommended that the City Council interview and appoint six applicants, to the Citizens Oversight Committee (Measure Q) to fill five regular member seats and one alternate seat. One member and the alternate will be appointed by the Mayor with terms ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 3 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 4 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 2 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2028 and one member that will be appointed by the District 1 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2028.

Background:
COMPOSITION OF COMMISSION:
The Citizens Oversight Committee (Measure Q) of five regular members and one alternate member, appointed to district terms. The members must be residents of the City and registered voters.
There are six positions that will be filled - five members and one alternate. One member and one alternate will be appointed by the Mayor with an ending term of December 31, 2026, one member will be appointed by the District 4 Councilmember with an ending term of December 31, 2026, one member will be appointed by the District 3 Councilmember with an ending term of December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 2 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2028 and one member that will be appointed by the District 1 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2028.
At the City Council Meeting of February 4, 2024, City Council had consensus for the City Clerk to solicit for more applications for District 3 as only one application was received. Recruitment for the Committee will run February 5 - February 28, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. additional applications will be brought back in March for appointment consideration. The Clerks office will keep the application received from district 3 on file and will not need to re-apply.
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED:
We received twelve applications that met the minimum requirements of being a resident of the City of Manteca and a current registered voter. All applicants have been interviewed by the District Councilmember and Mayor. These individuals are list below:
