It is recommended that the Mayor and Council interview and appoint seven applicants to the Recreation and Parks Commission to fill six regular member seats and one alternate seat. Two members (at-large) and the alternate (at-large) will be appointed by the Mayor with terms ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 3 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 4 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 2 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2028 and one member that will be appointed by the District 1 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2028.

Background:
COMPOSITION OF COMMISSION:
The Manteca Recreation and Parks Commission (Commission) consists of seven regular members and one alternate member. One of the regular members is appointed by Manteca Unified School District (MUSD) and they have appointed Lauren Koury. The City of Manteca appointments align to district terms. City appointments must be residents of the City and registered voters. MUSD appointments must reside within the MUSD boundaries within the City of Manteca.
Two members (at-large) and the alternate (at-large) will be appointed by the Mayor with terms ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 3 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 4 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2026, one member that will be appointed by the District 2 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2028 and one member that will be appointed by the District 1 Councilmember with a term ending December 31, 2028.
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED:
We received ten applications that met the minimum requirements of being a resident of the City of Manteca and a current registered voter. All applicants have been interviewed by the District Councilmember and Mayor. These individuals are listed below:
