Background:
The CNG Facility located at the WQCF creates the CNG Fuel utilized by a lot of the City of Manteca's commercial vehicles. This system requires a cooling component to allow the transformation of raw elements into fuel. The current Glycol Chiller system runs on a single cooling unit which occasionally malfunctions. When the unit malfunctions, the City must purchase CNG from Pacific Gas and Electric at a higher cost. In order to prevent downtime of this much needed resource, the WQCF will be installing a dual function chiller that will ensure the coolant portion of the process has a backup system and remains running, thereby saving the City money.

The City of Manteca issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Glycol Chiller Project on July 25, 2024. The RFP was issued to obtain proposals from qualified contractors to provide demolition and removal of existing Glycol Chiller and installation of a new dual core Glycol Chiller for the Water Quality Control Facility (WQCF).
