Background:
International Firefighters’ Day is observed annually on May 4 to honor firefighters worldwide for their dedication, courage, and commitment to protecting lives, property, and the environment. The day serves as an opportunity for communities to recognize the sacrifices made by fire service personnel, including those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Firefighters serve communities with professionalism, compassion, and bravery, often placing themselves in dangerous situations to ensure public safety. Their service extends beyond emergency response and includes fire prevention, public education, rescue operations, disaster response, and community outreach.
The City of Manteca recognizes the tremendous contributions made by firefighters and emergency services personnel who work tirelessly to safeguard residents and visitors every day.
