Background:
The city continues to grow, both in population and infrastructure, and the demands placed on the fire department expand beyond traditional firefighting. A modern, properly equipped Heavy Rescue apparatus will allow our department to meet these demands efficiently, ensure public safety, and enhance our ability to respond to a wide range of emergencies.

Currently, our specialized equipment is spread across multiple apparatuses, requiring multiple units to respond to one incident. A heavy rescue allows us to consolidate these resources, ensuring that critical tools and equipment are available on a single unit.

A heavy rescue provides the equipment and storage capacity for: vehicle extrication, technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, and disaster response. With expanded infrastructure comes larger and more diverse structures that create new challenges for the fire department. The increase in housing developments, road expansions, and utility installations heightens the risk of trench-related incidents. Heavy Rescue teams provide essential shoring systems, air monitoring devices, and rescue tools for safe extrications.
