Adopt a resolution authorizing the submittal of the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Transportation Development Act Claim Form to the San Joaquin Council of Governments for allocation of public transportation funds to the City of Manteca.

Background:
The Transportation Development Act (TDA), enacted by California in 1972, provides annual funding for public transportation through the Local Transportation Fund (LTF) and State Transit Assistance (STA) fund. These funds support a wide range of transportation projects and are allocated to counties based on population, sales tax, and transit performance.
In San Joaquin County, SJCOG administers TDA funds. To receive its share, the City must file an annual claim. This year’s claim aligns with prior appropriations in LTF (Fund 460) and Transit Fund (Fund 610), has received draft approval from SJCOG staff, and will be submitted to SJCOG’s governing board after City Council approval.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this claim will allow the continuance of transit and transportation-related projects in the City. Funding has already been budgeted for FY 2023-24 in the LTF (Fund 460) and the Transit Fund (Fund 610).
There is no General Fund impact.
