Background:
Black History Month is a time where all citizens are encouraged to reflect on the past successes and challenges of African American communities, and to look to the future to ensure freedom, equity, and inclusiveness.
The City Council will recognize the contributions of African Americans in the Manteca community, call for unity and inclusiveness, and declare February 2026 as Black History Month in the City of Manteca.
Gwendolyn Grace from the Senior Center along with City of Manteca employees and Community Members will be accepting the Proclamation.

There is no fiscal Impact.
