Review and consider the approval of a request for the renaming of Lincoln Park to Marion Elliott Park.

Background:
The City received a formal request from Mr. Jim Thomas requesting the renaming of Lincoln Park to Marion Elliott Park. Mr. Elliott has been a resident of Manteca for over 80 years and has provided years of service to the community of Manteca.
Attached to this report is the formal renaming request, required signatures of support and detailed information outlining Mr. Elliott’s years of service.
The renaming request meets all criteria in accordance with the City of Manteca Standards and Specifications for Landscape Development Park Naming Policy.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this request for the City of Manteca. Per the park naming policy, any costs incurred by the City as a result of the name change, shall be borne by the applicant. The applicant has indicated they have secured private funding to replace the sign at the park.
