Background:
Pride Month is celebrated each year to honor and commemorate the LGBTQ+ community's history, struggles, and achievements.
It serves as a platform to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ rights, promote inclusivity, and combat discrimination and violence faced by individuals based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Pride Month celebrates diversity, encourages self-acceptance and empowerment, fosters a sense of community, and advocates for equality and respect for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
John Alita, Executive Director from the San Joaquin Pride Center will accept the Proclamation.
