Background:
The Police Department and Fire Department worked hand in hand this year to present a united front regarding the use of illegal fireworks in Manteca. Through the combined use of a social media campaign, news outlets and word of mouth we were able to reach a greater number of citizens than in previous years. While we were certainly busy, the consensus is that this year was quieter than the previous few years. We received positive feedback from citizens, and many people were deterred from using illegal fireworks out of fear of being caught by a drone. The following information is an overview of July 1st through July 5th.
