body

Background:

In an effort to reduce errant golf balls from entering the property to the east of the driving range city staff and the golf course professional are recommending removing the existing concrete teeing area and replacing with new concrete, tee mats and dividers that will be angled to the west.

Fiscal Impact:

Staff recommends that City Council approve a Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget amendment to:

                     Appropriate $150,000 in the Self Insurance/Risk Management Fund (Fund 860);

                     Transfer $150,000 from Self Insurance/Risk Management (Fund 860) to the Golf Fund (Fund 620); and

                     Appropriate the $150,000 in Fund 620 to a new Capital Improvement Project: Golf Course Driving Range Improvements

Utilizing Fund 860 for this purpose is an appropriate use of Risk Management funds as it supports risk mitigation efforts. Sufficient funding is available in Fund 860 to support this recommendation.
