From:

Stephanie Van Steyn, Director of Human Resources

Date:

December 16, 2025

Subject:

2026 Part-Time Salary Matrix

Recommendation:

title

Adopt a resolution approving the 2026 Part-Time Salary Matrix.

body

Background:

Effective January 1, 2026, California’s minimum wage will increase to $16.90 per hour, reflecting a 2.49% inflation adjustment based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The attached part-time salary matrix includes this increase, along with adjustments to the subsequent salary ranges and internal equity adjustments. These changes will help the City recruit and retain part-time staff, especially in the Parks and Recreation Divisions.

Employees in applicable classifications will receive the pay adjustments starting January 1, 2026.

Fiscal Impact:

Any cost impact for these salary adjustments will be included in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 mid-year operating budget, if applicable.
