It is recommended that the City Council interview and appoint one applicant, to the Planning Commission to fill the alternate member seat, to be appointed by the Mayor with a term ending December 31, 2026.

Background:
The Planning Commission is composed of five regular members and one alternate member, appointed to district terms. The members must be residents of the City and registered voters. On February 6, 2025 City Council appointed five regular members to the Planning Commission. Currently, there is one vacancy for the alternate member position.
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED:
The City Clerk’s Office received five applications that met the minimum requirements of being a resident of the City of Manteca and a current registered voter. The following applicants have been interviewed by the Mayor and Development Services Staff:
• Sharon Lacy
• Jacob Naven
• Jesus Silla
• Pia Sok
All applicants, with the exception of one who did not respond to an interview request, have been interviewed by the Mayor and City staff
It is recommended that the Mayor nominate a City resident from the list of applicants for City Council approval to serve as an alternate. The selected alternate shall serve a term concurrent with the Mayor.
It is recommended that the City Council interview and appoint one applicant to the Manteca Planning Commission to fill one alternate member seat.
