Certificate of Retirement honoring Manteca Fire Chief, David Marques.

Background:
Chief Marques began his career in 1991 with the South Placer Fire District as a Firefighter Paramedic before joining the Manteca Fire Department in 1996. Over the course of his tenure, he progressed through the ranks, achieving the positions of Engineer in 2000, Captain in 2005, Battalion Chief in 2011, and ultimately Fire Chief in 2021. In addition to his leadership roles, Chief Marques served for several years as the department's Reserve Training Officer, successfully overseeing multiple Reserve Firefighter Academies. He also played a key role as the EOC Manager, effectively guiding the city through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
As Chief Marques retires, the City Council extends their heartfelt congratulations and deepest gratitude for his decades of dedicated service to the community.
