2025 Part Time Salary Matrix |
Recommendation:
title
Adopt a resolution approving the 2025 Part Time Salary Matrix.
body
Background:
Effective January 1, 2025, minimum wage in California increased to $16.50 per hour. This reflects an adjustment based on inflation based on the consumer price index (CPI), which saw a 3.18% increase over the past year.
The attached part-time salary matrix reflects the minimum wage increase and adjustments to other part-time classifications to reduce compaction between classifications. This will allow the City to continue to recruit and retain part-time staff, particularly in Recreation.
Employees holding applicable classifications will receive the pay adjustment retroactive to January 1, 2025, to ensure compliance with California minimum wage law.
Fiscal Impact:
There may be sufficient budget within the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Annual Budget to cover the cost impact of these salary adjustments. However, if upon further analysis, an increase in budget is needed, it will be requested at the Mid-Year Budget update.
