Present a Proclamation proclaiming February 2025 as Black History Month.

Background:

Black History Month is a time where all citizens are encouraged to reflect on the past successes and challenges of African American communities, and to look to the future to ensure freedom, equity, and inclusiveness.

 

The City Council will recognize the contributions of African Americans in the Manteca community, call for unity and inclusiveness, and declare February 2025 as Black History Month in the City of Manteca.

 

Robert Fennell, Jackie Fennell, James Elliott, Johnnie Keels, L.B. Green, and Janet Knight from the Senior Center along with City of Manteca employees and Community Members will be accepting the Proclamation.

 

Fiscal Impact:

There is no fiscal Impact.
