Proclamation Proclaiming October 2026, as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Background:
Staff and volunteers of PREVAIL vow to work year round to encourage every person in the community to end domestic violence by providing young people with education about healthy relationships, changing attitudes that support violence, and creating a future where all women, men and children can live free from violence and exploitation.
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which first began in 1981 by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence as a Day of Unity to connect battered women’s advocates across the country.
The City Council of the City of Manteca is proud to present this proclamation to Stephanie Player, CEO from PREVAIL.
