Background:
Manteca Transit offers four fixed routes service within the City limits which operate Monday through Friday; and three fixed routes that operate on Saturdays. Manteca Transit also operates a peak hour shuttle between the Manteca Transit Center and the Lathrop/Manteca ACE Station.

The current fare structure includes one-way fares, 10 ride passes, and monthly passes for fixed route and dial-a-ride. There are currently no day passes option (unlimited day rides) available to riders for fixed routes. Introducing a day-pass option would provide an additional fare product to meet the needs of riders who make multiple trips in one day, such as travelling for errands, appointments, or recreational purposes. Offering day passes could improve convenience for riders and encourage increased use of the transit system.

Local transit agencies in the region, including Lodi GrapeLine, TRACER in Tracy, and San Joaquin Regional Transit District (SJRTD), currently offer day-pass fares. Establishing a similar fare product for Manteca Transit would align the system with these local agencies and provide greater consistency for riders.

The Transit Division recommends exploring the establishment of a day-passes fare in a manner that balances affordability, revenue sustainability, and operational feasibility, while providing the public with an opportunity to provide input through a formal public hearing.
