Waive the first reading by substitution of the title and introduce an Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Manteca, State of California, amending Chapter 2.28 “Recreation and Parks Commission” of the Manteca Municipal Code; to remedy the order of review by the Commission of the park conceptual master plans and proposed park development.

Background:
The Manteca Municipal Code (MMC) Chapter 2.28, was amended in December 2024 to account for an expanded Recreation and Parks Commission in terms of both duties and number of members.
In reviewing how and when the Commission reviews the park conceptual master plans and proposed park development, the Staff is proposing a “clean-up” amendment to the ordinance to ensure an efficient and effective review process by the Commission, bearing in mind the roles of both the Planning Commission and the City Council vis-à-vis this process.

There is no fiscal impact with this action.
