Background:
On February 27, 2025, the City was awarded $3,814,045 in Active Transportation Project Cycle 7 grant ("ATP Cycle 7") funding by SJCOG. $400,000 was allocated to the Wawona Street (Union Road to Main Street) Bike & Pedestrian Improvement Project ("Project"). The ATP Cycle 7 grant has a 20% match requirement.

To expedite the construction schedule and optimize use of local funds, staff has prepared the Plans, Specifications, and Estimate ("PS&E") for the Project. The Project includes the addition of new class III bike lanes, placement of new asphalt concrete overlay, rubberized cape seal, pavement fabric, dig-out repairs, installation of ADA curb ramps, crack sealing, and striping.
