Adopt a resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Agreement (C2023-59) with Badger Meter, Inc. to extend the term for an additional three (3) years and increase the compensation by $660,600 for a total not-to-exceed agreement amount of $1,560,600; and authorizing the City Manager or designee to execute the amendment and take all necessary actions to implement the agreement.

Background:
On June 20, 2023, the City Council approved a professional services agreement with Badger Meter, Inc. to implement their Beacon Advanced Metering Mobile Solutions (Beacon) software as the City's water meter reading platform. The agreement was fully executed on June 27, 2023, with an initial term of three (3) years and includes an additional three (3) year option. The initial term is set to expire on June 27, 2026.
Since execution of the agreement, the Beacon software has been implemented and is working well. The Utilities and Finance Departments are very satisfied with this product and would like to extend the term by an additional three (3) years. Badger Meter, Inc. submitted a cost proposal, attached as Exhibit A of Amendment 1, to extend the term by three (3) additional years. The monthly cost per water meter was increased by one cent ($0.73/meter/month) for years one and two and by an additional cent ($0.74/meter/month) in year three. The not-to-exceed cost for all three years is $660,600.
Staff recommends approval of Amendment No. 1 to ensure continuity of water meter reading and billing activities.
Fiscal Impact:
