Background:
The City's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program is a vital component supporting numerous City operations, including critical mapping for Police and Fire, as well as integrations with Public Works, Engineering, Development Services, Finance, and Legislative Services/City Clerk. As departments increasingly rely on location-based data, GIS has become a foundational platform for daily operations, strategic planning, and public engagement.
In recent years, the demand for GIS services has continued to grow, driven by a broader user base, expanding applications, and increased expectations for real-time, accurate information. To support this growth and ensure a consistent level of service delivery, the City is seeking to supplement its existing GIS capabilities with professional consulting services.
Some specialized GIS functions, such as managing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, supporting complex system integrations, and generating customized analytics and technical documentation, benefit from focused, expert attention. Contracting with a firm experienced in these areas will enable the City to meet evolving needs while allowing internal staff to continue delivering core services efficiently.
