Adopt a resolution awarding a contract to Barth Roofing Company in the amount of $148,050 and approve a 10% contingency of $14,805 for a total not-to-exceed amount of $162,855 for the replacement of the roof and gutters at Fire Station No. 2, and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement and any associated documents consistent with the City's Purchasing Policy.

Background:
Fire Station No. 2 was constructed in 2003. The roof for this building has reached the end of its expected service life of approximately 20 years and has experienced age-related deterioration. Replacing the roof is necessary to protect the facility from water intrusion, preserve the structural integrity of the building, and ensure continued reliable operation of this public safety facility.
The City obtained contractor quotes for the project which includes project includes the replacement of the roof and the building gutters. After reviewing the proposals, Barth Roofing Company was determined to provide the best overall value based on pricing, qualifications, experience, and ability to meet the City's project requirements.
This project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines (Existing Facilities), as the project consists of the repair and replacement of an existing public facility with no expansion of use or capacity.
The project scope includes: Presidential Shingles
Remove and dispose of existing roof system.
Provide and install a CertainTeed Presidential asphalt shingle rood system over underlayment.
Provide and install Trim metals, Eave, Rake, & valley.
Seal any pipes, penetrations, or curbs per manufacturer's specifications.
