Background:
Prostate Cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men. The America Cancer Society estimates that 1 in 9 men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime. More men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in California than any other state and California has the highest number of deaths from the disease.
Each year, the President of the United States, the U.S. Senate, and Governors who represent several States issue Proclamations declaring September as Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Gloria Wilson will be present to accept the Proclamation.
