Adopt a resolution approving Industrial Disability Retirement benefit on behalf of Police Officer Jason May.

Background:
Mr. May has been deemed medically disabled within the meaning of the Public Employees’ Retirement Law for performance of his duties in the position on Police Officer. His disability is the result of an injury/illness arising out of and in the course of his employment with the city, in which he was a local safety member, thereby deeming it industrial in nature.
This item was considered in closed session earlier this evening, and should you decide to support this recommendation, formal action is necessary to approve the Resolution.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the item. Retirement benefits will be paid by CALPERS.
