Background:
As part of its efforts to bring in talented individuals to manage the day-to-day operations of the City, the City of Manteca believes in balancing the ease of having a City Manager within a reasonable driving distance from City Hall, while also recognizing that candidates may wish to participate in City activities, while not residing within the City limits.
To that end, the City of Manteca is seeking to extend its residency ordinance an additional ten (10) miles from 30 miles to 40 miles to not only cast a wider recruitment net for qualified candidates, but also recognizing the importance of having candidates near City Hall and city limits.
