body

Background:

Manteca Police Department will use the grant funds to increase criminal enforcement and education of driving under the influence (DUI) laws and increase traffic enforcement operations for unsafe driving commonly associated with injury and fatal collisions.  The grant funding will cover Police Department employee overtime expenses for DUI checkpoints, DUI saturation patrols, traffic enforcement operations and equipment to assist with traffic safety.

Fiscal Impact:

Receipt of funding for this grant will be on a reimbursement basis.  Therefore, staff recommends appropriating $75,000.00 from the FY2021-2022 Police Grants Undesignated Reserves to the following accounts: $64,854.96 to Police Grants - Overtime Account (No. 150.11.00.200.5000.03) and $10,145.04 to Police Grants - Supplies Account (No. 150.11.00.200.5000.08).
