Date:                                          September 21, 2021

Subject:                     McKinley Ave Interchange Project - PG&E Utility Easements

title

Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager or designee to execute utility easements and all associated documents with Pacific Gas & Electric for the State Route 120 / McKinley Ave Interchange project

body

Background:

Pacific Gase & Electric (PG&E) has requested the City grant utility easements on the City’s parcel along McKinley Ave for the State Route 120/McKinley Ave Interchange project (Project). The PG&E utility easements are required to relocate PG&E overhang electricity lines in order to provide safe and reliable service to its customers.

The location of PG&E electricity lines have to be in the near vicinity of McKinley Ave as shown in the exhibits. PG&E identified where all associated utility poles, cabinets, and equipment can be installed within the proposed utility easements.

The City’s parcels to be part of PG&E utility easements include APN 241-310-31, 241-310-65, 241-310-74, 241-310-18, and 241-310-29. The strip of land for PG&E utility easements is described in EXHIBIT A and shown on EXHIBIT B of Attachments 2 & 3.

This proposal will grant PG&E the necessary easements for installation of new and relocated PG&E electricity system as part of Project.  As such, Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager or designee to execute the attached utility easements and all associated documents for PG&E overhang electricity utilities.

Fiscal Impact:

There is no financial impact associated with the PG&E utility easements.
