Background:
On January 16, 2024, the City Council adopted a new mission, vision, and values statement:
Manteca City C.O.U.N.C.I.L. - Community. Optimism. United. Neighborly. Commitment. Integrity. Leadership.
"The Manteca City Council embodies the values of community, neighborly compassion, and unwavering commitment to integrity, leadership, and optimism."
During the same meeting, the Council adopted five strategic priority areas in ranking order for Fiscal Year 2024-2025:
1. Plan for Updating City Infrastructure and Facilities
2. Economic Development & Vitality
3. Public Safety
4. Expand Homelessness & Housing Options and Solutions
5. Stabilize City Finances
On February 28, 2024, the City Council held a special meeting to receive a status update on the FY 2023-2024 Strategic Goals & Priorities Work Plan, Citywide accomplishments in FY 2023-2024, and to receive and rank Department Priorities/ Needs for FY 2024-2025 in order to establish a Goals & Priorities Work Plan for the coming fiscal year. Attachment 1 outlines the results of the FY 2024-2025 Priorities/ Needs ranking exercise and Attachment 2 presents the draft FY 2024-2025 Goals & Priorities Work Plan for Council adoption. The FY 2024-2025 Goals & Priorities Work Plan includes carryover items from the current fiscal year, as well as the top three ranked Priorities/ Needs identified by the City Council.
