Proposed Golf Course Green Fee Increases |
Recommendation:
title
Adopt a resolution approving Golf Green Fee increases.
body
Background:
The daily Green Fees at the Manteca Park Golf Course are fees golfers pay to play at the golf course. The current rack rate Green Fees were last increased in April 2022. In an effort to maintain services levels and align with the current market averages, City Staff and our Golf Pro, recently compared daily rack rate green fees with surrounding golf courses. After completion of the analysis, we are recommending a variety of increases as noted in Attachment 2 (Exhibit “A”). Pass Play rates were increased in January 2023 and will be reviewed at the end of 2024 for any potential increases.
Upon Council’s approval, the daily rack rate Green Fees would be effective June 1, 2024.
Fiscal Impact:
The rate increases have the potential of increasing revenue by approximately $70,000 annually and were based on prior year data and assumptions. Revenues generated through rack rate Green Fees remain in the Golf Fund 620 (Account: 620.40.55.966-4570.01) and help to pay for costs related to the maintenance and operations of the golf course and various capital improvements program projects.
